In our search to find the right format for our program we constantly kept noticing one thing.  And that is that all competitive tournaments have a qualifying round followed by some sort of finals.

Our format is similar to most tournaments you will be competing in.

So to provide a true competitive atmosphere we have followed suit and have come up with the following format.

We call it The Tour!

The Tour bowls on various sport approved patterns.  All our patterns play true to layout.  In order for you to get a better feel for the pattern you will bowl 3 weeks on the same pattern.

Each match is match play and can earn you bonus pins towards your total wood by winning the match.
Total wood + bonus pins determines standings per pattern.
Tour Standings are based on total points earned per pattern, and are posted at the end of each pattern.

Qualifying Round

The first 2 weeks you will bowl 4 matches against different bowlers.

We use a matchplay system.  You are awarded 15 bonus pins for winning your match.

All ties are decided by a 1 ball roll off until the winner of the match is determined.  Both bowlers receive the same score, you are bowling for the 15 bonus pins.

Position Round

The 3rd week is position round.  You will bowl 3 matches against the same bowler.  Bowlers are placed in the following manner.  Bowlers 1v2, 3v4 are placed on lane 1&2.  Bowlers 5v6, 7v8 are placed on lane 3&4 all the way down.  Moving one pair to the right after each match.

After a total of 11 matches have been bowled.  The top 4 bowlers advance to the pattern Stepladder Finals.

StepLadder Finals

Win or go home in the round.  First match in  this round is between bowlers 4 v 3,   Winner advances to bowl #2.  Winner of that match faces pattern top seed for the pattern title.

Points System

At the end of each pattern you will receive points.  The point system is as follows.

Bowlers finishing from 5th place down will receive a 1 point difference.

Bowler who ends in 4th place will receive a 2 point difference from 5th place.

3rd to 1st place is a 3 point difference starting from 4th place point.

(ie 6th place 19 points, 5th place 20 points, 4th place22 points, 3rd place 25 points, 2nd place 28 points, 1st place 31 points)
